We did something truly awesome this weekend..

This weekend we did something that we have been waiting to do for about 8 months. We bought a new king-size mattress, pillows, and comforter. Now, this might not seem like a big deal to some, but to us it absolutely was and here is why. We paid cash for the entire purchase. No additional debt and we can honestly say we own it. It was really a great feeling to shop and haggle for the best price and then whip out crisp, clean bills to pay for it. I don’t the think the cashier had ever seen hundred dollar bills before.

There are many advantages to being patient when it comes to buying big ticket items. You won’t incur debt. You avoid those ridiculous finance charges. You avoid the ” 90 Day Same as Cash” scam. You can haggle for a bargain and the best feeling is that you walk away with your purchase knowing that you own it not the bank. It really is a good feeling.
