My attempt at blatant self promotion
In an effort to expand the offerings on this blog I have added an affiliate program through Amazon that allows me to offer books and DVDs related to the topics I write about on this blog. The biggest problem with Amazon is that their program really doesn’t pay much for the time and effort you expend on putting their products in your posts (where relevant). I used to do it regularly, but I generally get lazy and don’t bother anymore.
I know someone else who runs a blog and does the same thing. He told me he doesn’t make much but every little bit helps. However, if it is an extra 10-15 bucks a month, in your opinion, is it worth it?
Alexander, it all depends on the effort I have to put into make that money. The program I have set up is easy in that I only have to set it up once. As long as I don’t have to do anything else $10-15 is OK. It pays for hosting.
I think you just have to look at the effort versus the return. It took me 20 minutes to set it up. I really won’t have to touch it anymore, all I have to so let readers know it exists.
