Can I Double My $100 in 30 Days? Day 7

I visited several garage sales this weekend, but found nothing that could possibly sell and allow me to make a profit. I do live in a fairly small town (pop. less than 5000), so my selection does tend to be fairly limited. I gotta tell you that I am a bit torn and am wondering if it will be too much of a hassle to try to double one hundred dollars.

Someone posted that I should just put this money in my money market account and look to bigger projects that have a much bigger return. I think I am like a lot of other people where time is limited and we have other responsibilities that need our attention. I really hope people who read this blog learn that you will go back and forth with money decisions. You will have to prioritize and decide where your money will best be spent.

We had prioritized debt reduction as taught by Dave Ramsey. I need to evaluate what I am doing and decide if I am veering from my priority and my goals.

  1. Why not try selling food or water, have a little garage sale of your own and sell home made goodies?

  2. Dawn, those are good suggestions. The question for me know becomes a philisophical, as I am veering from my priorities regarding money.

    Thanks

  3. As a hobby, a friend of mine has taken to garage sales, flea markets, etc. where he purchases collectables or anything of value and resells it on eBay.

It is traditional for the buyer to pay shipping costs on eBay and he has been able to make a profit.

Now he’s got me hooked on it as a buyer because I can find so many real estate courses for cheap cheap cheap! (e.g. Jeff Kaller’s Short Sale course for $39.95 plus $14 S&H)

Now my fiancè is getting into it because her grandma’s basement is full of old collectables that she wants to throw away and since I bought her a digital camera she can take pictures and post stuff on there for cheap, too.

Watching eBay auctions is sort of a part-time job though. :/

    Just an idea.
